The Poble Espanyol, conceived as a real village, is a selection of full-scale replicas of buildings from different parts of the Peninsula.

It was conceived for visitors to enjoy an open-air Spanish architectural museum while strolling around its squares, streets and gardens.

The Poble Espanyol was built in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exhibition as the pavilion dedicated to art. Right from the start, it was conceived as a real “village” in the heart of a city. The aim was to give an idea of what might be an “ideal model” of an Iberian village that would bring together all the characteristics of all peninsular villages.

The Poble Espanyol shows the diversity of the Spanish territory thanks to the typical gastronomy.

Among them, we find the Daurel Foundation of Contemporary Art Museum, with a collection made up of over 300 works of contemporary art by internationally recognised artists, or the Sculpture Garden, a large outdoor space with 27 sculptures.

NIGHT-TIME

Visit Poble Espanyol at night, and you will enjoy a stroll in the open air, far from the traffic, and with places that invite you to spend a good evening.

Also, during the night, you will find multiple varied activities, from concerts and discotheques to wine tasting. When the sun goes down, the Village become the ideal place to enjoy a good meal, to chat, or to organise a reunion with your friends.
